At Policy Works California, our mission is to support clients who are dedicated to community-centered solutions that build financial independence and wealth in historically underinvested areas. We accomplish this by providing research, analysis, strategy, and policy consulting.

As the principal advisor at Policy Works California, Toni Symonds leverages, her 37+ years of government experience to help clients effectively engage in policy, legislative, fiscal, and regulatory actions at the federal, state, regional, local, and neighborhood levels. Recent engagements and projects include the California Jobs First Initiative, California Forward’s Region’s Up Work Group, the Land Use Alignment Initiative, and the Lithium Valley Specific Plan.

Affiliations and Awards of Ms. Symonds: Board member of CAMEO, the California Historic Preservation Foundation (former), and the Foundation for College and Career Readiness Schools (former). “Golden Bear” award from the California Association for Local Economic Development, and legislative champion awards from the California Small Business Development Centers, California Historic Preservation Foundation, and a coalition of statewide ethnic chambers.
