New leadership for the CAMS Network

July 1, 2025

Main Street America staff and the CAMS Board of Directors are pleased to announce the selection of Brooke Fox as the new State Coordinator for California Main Street.

In her role as State Coordinator, Brooke oversees the California Main Street network and provides hands-on guidance and technical assistance to local programs. Her work includes delivering training and resources, supporting program development and accreditation, and fostering collaboration among communities statewide.

Brooke began managing the core responsibilities of the State Coordinator role on an interim basis in November 2024, following Amanda Elliott’s transition into the role of Vice President of Field Services for Main Street America.

Brooke joined CAMS in 2022 as a Marketing and Communications Consultant, where she developed a strong understanding of the CAMS network through creating and editing newsletter content, supporting digital media strategy, and assisting with special projects. These included planning the in-person return of the popular annual CAMS Conference after a five-year hiatus.

Her Main Street journey began in 2017 as Executive Director of the Downtown Vacaville Business Improvement District, an Affiliate Main Street program. During her four-year tenure, the organization reclaimed full management of the Farmers’ Market, negotiated an increase in City funding, and produced an annual calendar of more than 35 special events, including Vacaville’s first-ever Pride and Black History celebrations. Under Brooke’s leadership, the board’s standing committees were realigned with the Main Street Approach, and she represented the organization at CAMS and Main Street Now Conferences in Seattle and Kansas City.

In 2022, Brooke stepped back from her leadership role at DVBID to launch Uptown Fox, a consulting business focused on local marketing and community events. In 2024, she was invited to serve as Event Coordinator and Farmers Market Manager for Benicia Main Street, an Accredited Main Street program, concluding that role earlier this year as her responsibilities with CAMS expanded.

Brooke is enthusiastic about the growing visibility and impact of the CAMS network. Since joining CAMS in 2022, she has helped onboard seven new communities, collaborated with the CAMS Board and Main Street America on new strategic goals, and recently launched weekly office hours to connect with both current and prospective members.

When she’s not visiting Main Street districts, Brooke can be found in her Northern California hometown of Vacaville, where she lives in a 125-year-old farmhouse with her husband and young son. She remains deeply engaged in her community, serving on the City’s Public Arts Advisory Committee and supporting several local nonprofits.
